Chivas USA v New York Red Bulls
New York is off to a hot start, Chivas are not. New York boasts a strong defense and an early candidate for MVP in box to box midfielder Joel Lindpere. Chivas have not started the season strong and are struggling mightily in attack. I expect the Red Bulls to earn points. The only question is will it be 1 or 3.

Philadelphia Union v Washington D.C. United
Philly will be playing in it's first home game at Lincoln Financial Field. A huge crowd is expected, which is no surprise. The surprise is that D.C. will have a large group of fans at the game as well. The proximity of the two cities sets this up as a natural rivalry. No matter how many people come and how electric the stadium is, nothing can change the fact that these are two poor football teams. Washington is a shell of it's former championship winning side and Philly is an expansion team after all. I will give the edge to the home team in this one. Let the rivalry begin.

New England v Toronto
New England will welcome it's talisman Sharlie Joseph back to a team that does not concede many goals anyway. Sharlie is the engine that runs New England so I expect him to improve the team in all aspects. Toronto, on the other hand, is in upheaval after the mid week retirement of it's captain Jim Brennan and some roster moves to accommodate desired trades/signings. New England should win while Toronto spends valuable season time adjusting it's roster. Things they could have figured out in the PRE-SEASON.
